The DT1516 pairs a 15 amp motor turning the reel at up to 3,300 RPM with a 16 inch path, a five-position height control from plus one quarter to minus one half inch and a 20-blade scarifying head. A dethatching tine reel and the scarifier reel swap on one machine.
The tradeoff is that the maximum motor load comes with a short cord limit, since a 15 amp tool on a thin extension cord loses voltage and slows under thick thatch. Against the 13 amp WEN DT1315 it has two more amps and a wider path, which matters on dense turf. The five depth settings let you start shallow, which is the key to not scalping the lawn. In year three the usual wear items are the tine tips, the bag seams and the drive belt, all of which are cheap to replace. Because it draws close to the household limit, run it on its own outlet and avoid power strips.
Clear clippings from the reel after each session, check the belt and keep the bag zipper clean. Run the machine over a test strip and check the output: if you are bringing up green blades and soil, raise the setting. If the thatch stays put, drop it one notch. The machine is a fair weight to lift into a vehicle, so plan on an easy way to load it.
