The TIECTOWN pairs a 15 amp motor, with a quoted peak of 15.5 amps, with a 16 inch path, a five-position depth lever and the largest collection bag in this guide at 14.5 gallons. Reels swap quickly between dethatching and scarifying.
The tradeoff is that a peak current figure above 15 amps is a marketing number, and a household circuit is limited, so run it on a dedicated outlet. On a large lawn the bag is the feature that matters: a larger bag means fewer interruptions, and 14.5 gallons holds noticeably more than the 12 gallon bags of rivals. Against the Westinghouse it offers a bigger bag but a less established name.
Expect to empty the bag every few passes on thick thatch, clear the reel regularly and check the cord for heat. In year three, the bag seams and the reel bearings take the most abuse on a big lawn, so look at both each spring. Work in strips about one pass wide, starting at the outlet and moving away so the cord always trails on dethatched ground.
